Thank you, eccentricyoruba! I had a very low-key Eid in London with a few friends. But then, that’s what you get when you’re away from family and outside your usual social/cultural context.
Eid was low key for me as well. I am in Durham and the Islamic society had planned events which i went to but did not enjoy much as i didn’t know anyone there. I guess it is also important to have Muslim friends to get the Eid feeling, if not you end up feeling like an outsider.
