Earlier this year, after more than a year of online tutorials and mentoring with leading film scholars of video-graphic production funded by an AHRC project led by Alison Peirse, I was proud to see my first ever video essay published in MAI: Feminism and Visual Culture. It is part of a Special Issue edited by Peirse titled, ‘Doing Women’s Global Horror Film History‘ alongside other brilliant contributions.
More recently, I had a book chapter published in the new Routledge Companion to Asian Cinemas edited by Zhen Zhang, Sangjoon Lee, Debashree Mukherjee and Intan Paramaditha. In the spring-summer of 2022, I wrote a piece for it on the changing meanings of the face veil in post-pandemic Indonesian film. Editors of the book, fellow contributors, and myself will be in Yogyakarta in July 2024 to launch and discuss our work in a roundtable at the AAS-in-Asia. Say hi if you’re there!
